Free Fall Festival in Daytona Beach
October 28, 2017
Fall is a beautiful time in Florida! While the whole country is turning yellow, orange and red and welcoming lower temperatures that are perfect for boots scarves and jackets, we are still welcoming a nice breeze, sunny days and wearing tank tops and flip flops!
And what better way to enjoy fall then attending a festival? Attending a FREE family-friendly festival! The St. Demetrios Greek Festival is an annual Greek festival that has brought great food and lots of music to Daytona for 40 years! The event is held at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Halifax Avenue in Daytona Beach, which is just three miles away from The Hawaiian Inn Resort.
The event will happen on November 9 to 12 this year and will be free to the public and even include parking and shuttle services. Guests get to experience traditional Greek music and also a performance by the Saint Demetrios Dancers. Hasapiko, Zeibekiko, Tsamiko, Sirto and Pentozali are some of the music styles guests will enjoy during this fun celebration!
The event also featured delicious Greek food like gyros, pork souvlaki, moussaka, spanakopita and stuffed grape leaves. For dessert, you may try the traditional baklava, melomakarona (honey walnut cookies), semolina pudding and more! You can also purchase your favorite dishes to bring home as they offer fresh and frozen options for sale.
A Greek marketplace is also available so guests can look at souvenirs and gifts for the whole family!
So, we invite you to spend a relaxing time with us at the Hawaiian Inn this fall! Enjoy some pool time in the morning at either our outdoor or indoor pool, have a drink at our poolside Tiki Bar, visit the traditional Greek festival and finish up the day taking a walk on the beach or visiting the Daytona Beach Boardwalk for some fair-like fun!
We hope to see you soon!
